These photos are from last spring and Summer, don’t they look wonderful?!
Molly and Merlin, after a couple of false starts have settled very happily into their new home, having been there since 2012.
Before this, we had the unfortunate experience of a guardian trimming their feet by himself despite it being stated in the contract that was not...

Compared to some of the equines that pass through our hands, Asal has led a charmed life.
His owner, who had inherited some donkeys with his new house, needed to find him a new home. He wanted the donkeys to be safe for life, so chose ERF to rehome for him as all our equines go out under contract. We were approached by...

As we’ve had some requests on how past equines are doing, we’re going to run a few blog posts with recent photos them.
Todays blog is is for Wilbur and Piona (now renamed Dolly).
Some of you may remember the dreadful start poor Wilbur had. He was left entire, and locked in a black hole of a shed because his...

The FEI have imposed bans on the UAE with strict instructions for that region to clean up its act in Endurance.
One of the sanctions is no cars on tracks with the horses. Clearly that’s being ignored as seen by the above photograph.
The awful sights of horses wearing blinkers, their eyes covered with...

Our little Ebony is sadly looking for a new home.
She has been an ERF equine most of her life. We got her and her mother Ruby, from whom she was still suckling as a yearling, in 2008. She was a bit of a wild child, but soon came around. Unfortunately her initial adopters moved to Spain, and given the welfare climate there for...

At long last the FEI has finally acted in light of the appalling welfare record and race forging that has been going on in the Group VII countries.
The photo of the grey horse below is one of many all over the internet – this horse is Aquiledes des Timote, Dubai Endurance Stables, trainer Hasan Ahmed Al...

Just grabbing the opportunity for a gratuitous pic fest of Corran Ard and Accord today in the field.
They ignored me at first, because it was way too early for food, but Accord was the more curious so he turned first. (Bit like the Voice!)
So then Corrie...

At last the FEI has been forced to act in the Group 7 countries after the recent horrific images and videos emerged from the Al Reef Cup.
Below are stills from videos of horses setting out from the last gate in the Al Reef Cup. When clearly reluctant horses need to be chased by groups of men waving their arms and ropes to force them to...

Last week we took the saddest of decisions to let the gentle Leo take his final journey.
He came to me with a dreadful injury in early 2009, and was so brave whilst I did all sorts of treatments to try and heal him.
His story is here: http://www.equinerescuefrance.org/erf-equines/2010-2/leon/
We went...

We have up for loan Accord, a lovely chestnut gelding who is 11 this year. He’s by Neptune D’Alary (AA) out of the German mare Ariane (Trakehner). He is fully papered in France.
Unfortunately the circumstances of Accord’s current guardians have changed suddenly and dramatically and they had to give up all the horses they had from us. It’s been very emotional for all...
