Last month we were reported a case of 2 donkeys with terribly overgrown hooves. We see so many cases like this, often on a weekly basis, but it nice to be able to report such a rapid and positive outcome. Equine Infectious Anaemia, otherwise known as Swamp Fever, is sadly back in the news again with confirmed cases in France and the UK.
Within the past month in France, 2 horses have been destroyed following positive tests – one in Sarthe and the other in the Gironde, whilst another 44 are being treated as susceptible.

If you look carefully you may see little yellow eggs on your horses legs and stomach. These are insect larvae produced by adult bot flies. These bee like looking insects usually linger around the horses chest and front legs.
