Enduring Attrition
Posted by on May 28, 2014 in Association News | 1 commentFollowing on from Monday’s blog about the sorry state of a horse competing at Compiègne, here’s a rough breakdown of the completions versus non completions for the two International competitions.
2*
121 starters
60 completed
61 non-completions
29 of the non-completions were lame: 15 of those were Middle East, 8 were French
Just over 50% FAILED to complete, and almost half of those were LAME.
4*
102 starters
42 completions
60 non-completions
34 of the non-completions were lame: 17 of those were Middle East, 10 were French
Just under 60% FAILED to complete and more than half of those were LAME.

Hi Richard, if you check the results site and the eliminations document from Compiègne, you’ll see the statistics are correct for lamenesses. Over 50% failed to complete in each class, and of those, approx 50% were classed as lame.
