ERF is accredited by WSPA
Posted by on Sep 3, 2008 in Association News | 0 commentsAfter our recent visit from WSPA (World Society for the Protection of Animals) we are delighted to be able to announce that we have been accepted as a Member Society for France. There are only 9 other societies in France across the whole animal welfare spectrum so we are thrilled to have been chosen.
WSPA have been promoting animal welfare worldwide for over 25 years and their aim is to build a united global animal welfare movement. With consultative status at the United Nations and the Council of Europe, WSPA is the world‘s largest alliance of animal welfare societies. They now coordinate a growing network with more than 900 member organisations in over 150 countries including organisations such as the SPA in France and the WHW (formerly ILPH), The Donkey Sanctuary, Redwings and the RSPCA in the UK .
By becoming a Member Society, ERF will have access to other similar organisations across the globe, sharing expertise and accessing training & development, research and funding support. By joining with others, our small voice will become more powerful and we will be able to start to influence governing bodies on issues that matter to us. However, since it is an alliance, we are also able to maintain our independence and continue to drive forward our association as agreed by our members. All in all, this is a really important milestone in our development and one we have worked hard to achieve.
