Goodnight, Knaven.
Posted by on Jan 14, 2015 in Association News | 0 commentsTonight, we say a very sad goodbye to the big gentle giant that is Knaven.
Knaven was put into the care of ERF six years ago, along with his companions Molly and Merlin, when his owner’s circumstances changed dramatically and she could no longer look after them.
Knaven had been taken out of the meat chain from a market in the UK by his previous owner, and she was distraught at the thought of him falling into the wrong hands again.
ERF took on the responsibility for his future, and we and Knaven were so incredibly lucky when Wanda stepped up and offered to look after him for the rest of his life.
He has been cherished and adored by visitors and family alike, but unfortunately all the love in the world can’t stop the onset of time and age, and though his spirit was a strong, his big old body was failing him. He left this world with the sun on his back surrounded by all the love any horse could have wished for.
Sleep well, beautiful boy, you will be sorely missed.
