I went back up to check on them and to take the pictures today. When they’d come off the trailer on Friday they had rubbed their tails a bit, so I had washed the sore area and put some cream on. When they saw me today, they didn’t want to come anywhere near me, in case I interfered with them again! Donkeys are so funny, they have long memories!

Wit some pieces of apple, I was attempting to dispel them of the notion that I’m a horrible person. It was all going swimmingly until the cat climbed onto the electric fence behing me, got zapped, leaped in the air and into the bushes. All that merely served to confirm their suspicions, and they shot off back down the field!

Apparently they are happy to speak to other people though, and had been holding court to assorted visitors earlier in the day.

It’s lovely to see them so settled, and I’m sure keeping the pair bonding intact makes any move so much less traumatic for them.
