Successful day-Etcetera fun day
Posted by on Jun 13, 2011 in Association News | 0 commentsERF had a great day yesterday at the Etcetera fun day in Lessac (16). Thank you so much to all the generous supporters who donated, bought raffle tickets, clothing, cakes, books, or simply came along for a chat. A big welcome and a thank you to all our new members who joined yesterday. Your support is very much appreciated.
This year saw more people through the doors than last year, giving us an opportunity to show awareness of all the work we do. We ran videos throughout the day showing our undercover market work – something that proved very popular and was a real eye opener for those that had never seen inside a French horse market before. It is so important that the welfare issues and malpractices within the trading of horses for meat or leisure are made publicly available.
In total we raised just over 363€. This money is vital to ERF, especially as we now have Lily and Marcy back in our care, unfortunately in need of vet care, ongoing farrier treatment and specialist feed to get them back on the road to fitness.
A huge thanks to Lizzie, our newest fundraiser who was having her 1st event behind the ERF stand, a baptism of fire, we think!
Massive thanks also go to Lorraine at Etcetera for allowing charities to have a free stand at this popular event. The help this is to us and other charities cannot be underestimated.
For those of you who bought raffle tickets, the winning numbers were – 259, 210, 222, 236, 240.
We hope you were lucky, and all those successful will have been contacted by tonight. Commiserations if your number didn’t come up – but don’t worry, there’s always next time! Look forward to seeing you at our next event!
