Today ERF placed Maddy, Poppy (Maddys foal) and Elly (Maddys sister), with their new adoptive family Tracie and Dave and their 3 beautiful horses.

I think they are going to become best of friends now!
It’s very important for donkeys to have company and they build firm pair bonds, which is why ERF only rehomes single donkeys where there is already a donkey, or at the very least another horse/pony.

A few weeks ago we were contacted by a lovely Dutch couple who were looking for a friend for their lonely donkey, Boris. We think we found the perfect match for him in Asal, a 4 year old donkey gelding of a similar breed and size to Boris. ERF were contacted several months ago by the owner of this horse after he had received a terrible injury to his leg that would not repair. A small fortune was spent on vet’s fees by the owner trying to repair the leg.
